Bare feet in the sand,
Ten years, oh so bland,
Bare feet in the sand,
I may still have the wedding band.
Ocean raging far beyond,
I can't believe you're really gone,
Ocean raging far beyond,
Breathing ragged and done soon.
Lying on the cold, hard ground,
Cryin' silent, with no sound,
Lying on the cold hard ground,
Dying, silent, with no sound.
Today I gave my last good bye,
Not without a groom, am I a bride,
Today I gave my last good bye,
Now with my groom, me his bride.

A.N./ This poem features a widow's last thoughts as she falls, hoping to see her long deceased groom and become his bride once again. The poem is a companion to my previous poem, 'The Groom's End'.
